Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream
There is something so soothing about diving into a big bowl of ice cream, and curling up on the couch. Though it is absolutely delightful…it is far from healthy! I’ve been on the hunt for delicious (I mean actually delicious) and healthy dessert recipes. I think so far my favorite and the most nutritious recipes I’ve found are for banana ice cream.
I’ve seen pictures on Pinterest and even spoken to a friend who has tried it, and despite all of that, I was reluctant. I’ve tried to make homemade cashew milk ice cream before and it looked nothing like the Pinterest photo. Unlike cashew milk ice cream which require gobs of money (cashews are not cheap) and quite a bit of time. Banana ice cream is SO easy, and really cheap to make. I happen to love bananas, so I had no doubt I would love it.
The ingredients I used were frozen bananas, a little almond milk (to help my Ninja blend it up), unsweetened cocoa powder, and a scoop of peanut butter. The worst part was getting the bananas to blend. My Ninja kept just spinning and spinning and not actually chopping anything, so I had to add almond milk. But since almond milk is creamy and a bit sweet, I think it gave it just a little extra yum.
